Handwoven • Archival Mounting • 8x10 Oak Frame
This small weaving holds a lot of hope. In the days after Helene, an image of a shadowy girl walking through water appeared in my dreams night after night. While processing the grief and trauma the storm carried in, I wove her into cloth.
Pattern inlay involves working multiple patterns on the same ground cloth, requiring attention, focus, and care. Each line of inlay is placed by hand during the weaving process, in between picks of ground cloth.
Up close, you can see the tiny shifts in texture and color that only happen in handwoven work. From a distance, the piece reads almost like a soft, woven drawing.
It’s archivally mounted to keep the fibers protected and framed in a handmade 8x10 wired oak frame that gives it a grounded, timeless feel. It’s the kind of piece that brings warmth to a reading nook, bedroom, or entryway with texture and gentle curving lines.
